Hippolyte MELO

Founder of Ailo Sàrl and certified tandem pilot

Hippolyte, or "Hippo", has been passionate about paragliding since a young age. He made his first flight at 12 years old, and a few years later he joined the Pôle Espoir Vol Libre in Font-Romeu, a prestigious school where young people are trained for competition. Bi-national, he is the first Swiss to enter. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Pôle France. Passionate and determined, he is counted among the best pilots in the world in distance competitions. Swiss vice-champion, junior world record holder for distance, he also practices many other disciplines such as acro (for which he is also an approved FAI judge), speed-flying, and hike & fly.

Particularly pedagogical, he loves to share his passion with as many people as possible, so it was only natural that he obtained his tandem pilot's licence in 2024 and founded Ailo Sàrl. His priorities in flight: safety, sharing, and good humour, to ensure that every passenger has a reassuring, friendly, and unforgettable experience.

Hippolyte speaks French and English fluently and has a basic understanding of German.
