Hippolyte MELO

Founder of Ailo Sàrl and certified tandem pilot

Hippolyte, or ‘Hippo’, has been passionate about paragliding since he was a child. He made his first flight at the age of 12, and a few years later he joined the Pôle Espoir Vol Libre in Font-Romeu, a prestigious school where young people are trained for competition. A dual national, he is the first Swiss person to join the school. Since 2023, he has also been a member of the Pôle France. Passionate and determined, he is considered one of the world's best pilots in distance competitions. Swiss vice-champion and junior world distance record holder, he also practises many other disciplines such as acro (for which he is also an FAI-approved judge), speed flying and hike & fly.

Gifted teacher, he loves sharing his passion with as many people as possible, so it was only natural that he obtained his tandem pilot's licence in 2024 and founded Ailo Sàrl. His priorities in flight are safety, sharing and good humour, ensuring that every passenger enjoys a reassuring, friendly and unforgettable experience.

Hippolyte speaks French and English fluently and has a basic understanding of German.
